I felt like this summer was really busy and we had lots going on. These pictures will some up some of the things we did this summer. A few of the pictures are out of place but I don't know how to fix it.

July 4th I turned 26 and we went to the balloons like we do every year.

Lucas learned how to swim with the arm floaties all by himself. I love it.

Lucas won 1st place in the freedom day baby contest so we all got to walk in the parade on the 4th. We almost missed the start of the parade so we sprinted to the start of the parade to just turn around and walk back. The things we do for our kids. Lucas loved it and waved his flag to the crowd. Carter slept the whole time.

After a very HOT day at the zoo. We missed Colt this zoo trip.

My neice came out from Colorado to help me do swimming lessons this summer. Lucas hated swimming lessons, he just wanted to do his own thing. Carter didn't really care either way. I don't think these kids will be doing swimming lessons next year.

We went to Colorado to visit my family out there. Colt tried bare footing and did awesome. He got a huge hematoma to prove it.

I have to brag about my Dad. This is him skiing for the first time in 18 years after losing 140lbs.

I still got it, but I sure need a tan on those legs.

Lucas started gymnastics this summer. I think it is really good for him and he loves it.

We always to 2$ Tuesdays in August and this year was a hint. Both the boys loved it. I'll let you guess who loved it more :)

This little man of mine turned 7 months old today! He is such a happy little Mama's boy. Carter's favorite things is his jumparoo and playing on his tummy. He is definitely starting to get around by rolling around on his tummy.

Today he started getting on his hands and knees and rocking back and forth.

He loves sleeping on his tummy.

You probably can't tell with how skinny he is but he really loves to eat.

Lucas won 1st place for his age category in the Freedom Festival baby contest. He sang to the judges his favorite song, The Itsy Bitsy Spider. Way to go Lucas!

About time for an update!

I'm not the biggest fan about updating my blog but I would really like to turn this into a book someday so here I am forcing myself to blog.

We have been keeping ourselves busy. Colt is busy working and when he is not working he is trying to catch up on some sleep or playing with the boys. I have been doing a lot of organizing around this house, trying to make more room for us around here since we have definitely grown out of our place. We have eliminated our office and turned it into Carter's room. We put shelving up in our closet so we got rid of our dresser in our bedroom and now use it as a TV stand which also hides all the kids toys very well. I wish we had done this when we first moved in. We switched Lucas to his big boy bed back in February. He did awesome with the whole transition. We are amazed at how much Lucas is learning everyday. He is talking a ton. His favorite thing to say is "oh I see." He is learning to count, shapes, colors, and some letters. Carter had started on solids and is actually a good little eater. Carter is getting really fun. He loves playing with his baby toys. He just learned how to roll from his back to his tummy yesterday. He loves tummy time. Carter bug is very ticklish. It so fun to hear his cute little laughs. He is such a little snuggler, which I love very much. Lucas was never that way. I love how different the boys are. Carter has just started sleeping through the night, 12 hours. I had the hardest time trying to figure out why he wasn't he wasn't sleeping through the night, but I hope he's got it down now.

Carter is already 3 months old. I wish time could slow down a bit. I am loving the stage both kids are in. Carter is really smiling and starting to laugh. He can roll over from his tummy to his back. Carter is sleeping from about 8pm to 6am and many naps during the day. He is a mamas boy and loves to cuddle. I love it. Carter is a little guy, at his 2 month doctor appointment his weight was 11lbs 3oz 36%, height 22in 16%, head 39.9cm 50%.

We blessed Carter on February 13th. Colt gave a sweet blessing and Carter slept through the whole thing and pretty much the whole day. Our bishop called us Saturday afternoon and said we could not bless him at church that Sunday because it was ward conference; so after a very quick change of plans we were able to do it at our home which I liked better anyways. It was a great day surrounded by all our family.

Christmas 2010

We had a really good Christmas this year. It was fun seeing Lucas get all excited Christmas morning. He understood it a little more so it was really fun for us.

Time has sure flown by. Carter is already 6 weeks old. We are having lots of fun with him. Lucas is really good with him and always wants to smother him with kisses. I think Carter has finally figured out the difference between night and day and that he is suppose to sleep at night. Last night he went 8 1/2 hours between feedings. Wahoo! Carter is a really good baby, he loves to be held all the time, and he never cries unless Lucas is picking on him.

As for the birth story... On November 23rd I went that morning to my regular doctors appointment. I was having incision pain from my previous c-section and some decreased fetal movement and I had not progressed at all for the last 4 weeks. So considering all that the doctor decided it was time to have a birthday. He asked us to go the the hospital at 3. We rushed home and made arrangements for Lucas and cleaned the house and packed our bags and off we went. Now because I had a c-section with Lucas I could not be induced because of the risks so I had to have another c-section with Carter. We got to the hospital by 3 they got me all prepped and by 4:42 Carter was born. This was by far a better experience and recovery then it was with Lucas. I guess c-sections aren't so bad after all. We stayed in the hospital 5 days. We had to stay an extra day because Carter had lost a lot of weight and my incision had opened up a little bit. 3 weeks out they found leftover particals of conception or placenta in my uterus. I had to have a D&C to get all that out. They could not get my to stop bleeding so I had to stay the night in the hospital. I was able to go home by the next day. Thankfully my sister was in town and she was able to take care of Carter and Lucas while Colt stayed with me. I feel really good now and am ready to have everything back to normal.

Lucas turned 2!!!

Lucas turned 2 on November 22nd. He had a Curious George themed party. We had his party at the our church since our house is tiny and it worked out well there. Lucas had lots of fun and got so spoiled.

Lucas wasn't sure about everyone destroying his monkey pinata, but I think he was ok once he got the candy.

Happy Birthday to you Lucas!

This kid is OBSESSED with tractors!!! He loves to see all the tractors around with all this constructions going on. He is the only person that likes all this construction.

We took Lucas to The Living Planet Aquarium on his birthday. He loved seeing all the fish and playing in the water.

Lucas is continuing to learn lots of new words. His favorite word is tractor! He wants to do almost everything by himself. He is learning the temper tantrum thing and the time out thing very well. He has finally learned that time out is a bad thing. Lucas still loves to sleep and nap time. I hope it stays this way for a very long time. Lucas loves to see all the Christmas lights, he asks for more every time he sees them. Lucas loves tractors, trucks, cars, books, bugs, basically everything boys like. He is ALL BOY! We love Lucas so much and can't wait to see what the next year will bring.

At 34 weeks

I have not said that much about this pregnancy so I thought I better before I forget it all. The last thing I said was about the pain I was having. Well that still has not come back and I am shocked but so thankful for that. This pregnancy has gone by fast except this last month is going by slow. I am getting very anxious about how the delivery is going to go. I am trying for a VBAC so I have to wait to go into labor on my own. I can't get induced because of the risks it has. I am just waiting and hoping that I will go into labor on my own. I have scheduled a day for the c-section on Dec. 1st if I have not gone into labor before then. So far this pregnancy has gone great. This baby seems to be a lot more mellow then Lucas was. I have craved salt and vinegar chips and limes. I am now getting really uncomfortable. I don't have any clothes that fit anymore, I am so huge. I am getting really excited for him to come. I can't wait to hold him and to see what Lucas thinks of his new baby brother. I can't wait to be able to hold Lucas comfortably again. I have mostly everything ready for our baby. The house is clean and ready. Now the waiting game continues. I hope this baby comes really soon.

Halloween Fun

Every year Colt's parents put on a Halloween party for the grand kids. It is always a lot of fun and the kids have a blast. Lucas loved wearing his costume and eating lots of candy. I can't wait to hide the candy now.

We had to get Lucas a new dresser so that the new baby can use his. We wanted to go really cheap so we found this one at DI for 35 dollars. It was covered with thick thick paint. We had to use paint remover we few times to get it off and did lots of sanding. It turned out to be nicer would then we thought so we decided to stain it instead of paint it. We are happy with the way it turned out.

We went to the Zoo last week. Lucas finally got to see all the animals he has been learning about in his books. Lucas really loved the bugs and snakes and the giraffes made his very nervous when they got to close.

We went to Deer Creek in August to play in the sand and water. Lucas had lots of fun and loved floating with his life jacket. Lucas loves playing in the water. It was a fun afternoon.

First Hair Cut!

I gave Lucas his first hair cut a couple weeks ago. He had no idea what I was doing. I put on one of his favorite movies and gave him a sucker and he was good to go. Every time he would look up at me wondering what I was doing I would hide the scissors so he thought I was just combing his hair.

21 Months

Lucas is now 21 months old. We are having so much fun with him. He is learning lots of new words like: tractor, turtle, truck, eye, juice, Nemo, bee, candy and many more. Lucas loves trucks, motorcycles, tractors, and dinosaurs. He loves us reading books to him. He loves brushing his teeth but only if he does it by himself. Lucas loves playing outside, playing in the hose and looking for bugs and he loves going on walks.

Ultrasound pictures FINALLY!

I have finally gotten around to scanning in my ultrasound pictures. I had my ultrasound over a month ago and most of you already know but we are having another BOY! We are excited for another boy. Lucas will love a little brother and I'm very happy I don't have to buy all new clothes. I totally thought it was a girl just because this pregnancy is night and day from the last one but obviously that doesn't always mean the opposite gender. Here is just a couple of the many ultrasound pictures that I got.

As far as the pregnancy goes, it's going just ok. It is very different from the last one. At week 16 to week 20 I was in the worst pain of my life. I am now 25 weeks. I had what they think was a separated pubic symphysis. I was seeing a chiropractor to help with the pain. I think it helped. They said the pain would not go away until I deliver. So I am very happy to say that they were wrong and I have been pain free for 5 weeks now. Yea! I did not start to feel the baby move until about 22 weeks. That is because the placenta is anterior. I am kinda bummed about this because I just can't really feel the baby move like I could with Lucas. That was my favorite part about being pregnant. It's just a lot different this time around. I am enjoying it though. The nesting stage has already began. I am cleaning and organizing my house like crazy. I think it has started so early because I know the pain will be back and I am just getting bigger so I am trying to get everything done before things just get harder. Until next time.

4th of July

We had a good 4th of July weekend, and I had a good 25th birthday. This year we went to the balloons festival and I don't think I have been to that for over 15 years. It was fun to see and Lucas loved seeing all the big balloons. We also went to the provo parade which is always madness but it was fun. Of course we wouldn't miss the Pleasant Grove fireworks. I have been going to those for as long as I can remember and they are fun every time. Lucas did really well with the fireworks. He got a little nervous with the first few then he just loved the rest of the show. What a fun weekend!

Playing in the water is something we do almost every day. Lucas loves it! He loves to have all control of the hose too.

Lucas loves running through the water but he always has to take Daddy's hand with him. So cute.

SURPRISE SURPRISE!!

Well as some of you may have notice from the pictures from my last post, my belly has grown a lot. Yes, I am PREGNANT! We weren't planning on getting pregnant so soon, especially since I just had my appendectomy a couple weeks prior to getting pregnant, so this was a little bit of a surprise but we are very excited. Lucas and this baby will be just barely 2 years apart. This pregnancy is very different from the last one. The morning sickness started at week 3 before I even knew I was pregnant and stopped at about 12 weeks. I am 17 weeks now and due Dec. 2nd. We will find out the gender in 2 weeks.

St. George/ Memorial Weekend

This is very late but better late then never.

We went to St. George for Memorial weekend. My sister Jen and her family came from Colorado and we had lots of fun. We love it in St. George!

Lucas wanted to do what Carley was doing and ride her bike too.

Lucas would run and hug Carley everytime the fountain sprayed.

That stupid lizard bit Lucas' figure, but he sure had fun looking at it.

Lots went on in May. One really excited thing that happened was

COLT GRADUATED!!!
Colt received his Registered Nurse degree and will start school again in the fall to further his education.

Colt turned 28 this month so I took him to St. George to see his favorite comedian Brian Regan at the Tuacahn. Brian Regan is hilarious and it was a great show. Everyone should go see him sometime.

Here's just some cute pictures of Lucas from this month. Lucas turned 18 months this month so that means NURSERY time. We have been waiting for this month for a long time. Church is SOOOOO hard with this wild boy. We took Lucas into nursery for the first time and he walked in there saw all the kids and toys and we just became invisible. He didn't even notice we were there so after 5 minutes we left and it was nice to have a break for a while. I knew Lucas would do very well with nursery. He loves it. There just may be a purpose for church again :)

It's been a long time!

Its been a long time since I have posted anything about Lucas. He is now 17 months old! Lucas has been learning so much and continues to be a wild wild man.

* Lucas is learning animal sounds, he can tell you what a cow, dog, lion, and monkey says.

* Lucas can point to many parts of his body: head, hair, ear, eye, nose, hands, belly button, and toes.

* We are trying to teach Lucas a little bit on sign language, so far he knows the sign for MORE.

* Lucas LOVES grapes, he will open the fridge and eat grapes all day long.

* Lucas loves ALL fruits and veggies and cheese, he will he these over any other types of food.

* Some new words Lucas can say are: cracker, and cheese

* Lucas loves playing with cars and making lots of car noises.

* Lucas LOVES playing outside and on the playground, He could play outside all day everyday, rain or shine.

We had a great Easter. Lucas loved getting candy but his favorite thing was his electric tooth brush.

We did a little Easter egg hunt for Lucas in our house and after he found each egg he stopped and wanted to eat the candy out of each one.

Lucas had fun finger painting with pudding, he even liked eating it and putting it in his belly button.

I just think this picture is cute. Lucas is a funny sleeper. This is his "froggy" position.

Lucas LOVES to stir stuff. He loves watching us cook and playing with all the cooking utensils.

New and Exciting Discovering!

Today I went to my post-op Dr. visit. When they did my surgery I had 3 little incisions, 1 at my belly button and 2 others. When they were taking off my steri-strips I notice something very different about my belly button. Let me first say what my belly button looked like before surgery, I had a long, saggy, anything but round, and ugly belly button. Thanks to the pregnancy and getting so big while I was pregnant. Today I saw the new and IMPROVED belly button. They sutured up my belly button a lot smaller then it was. Now I have a nice little round belly button that no longer sags. Now having to get the surgery wasn't fun, but I must say I like my new belly button.

2 ER trips in less then a week!

Lucas had his first trip (I'm sure there will be many) trips to the ER. We would have gone to the after hours clinic at our doctors but they were already booked up for the night so they sent us to the ER. Anyways, what happened is Lucas grabbed my flat iron and burnt his hand. I felt so bad, he screamed for an hour straight. Burns are the worst, I can't imagine how bad that must have hurt- Poor guy. They wrapped his hand up and then he was fine. He had to wear a wrap around his hand for 3 days with us changing the bandages twice daily. Lucas did very well with having his hand wrapped. He acted like it didn't bother him at all. It's almost been 2 weeks now and Lucas' hand is healing just fine.

I had to go to the ER for the second time the same week. Last Tuesday I started getting a stomach ache at like 11 o' clock. Colt and I were doing our normal switch, me coming home from work and him leaving to school. I gave him a hug goodbye and that kinda hurt my stomach a little but I didn't think anything of it. As the day went on and I was doing my normal things, the pain just got worse. It kinda felt like heartburn but in my stomach. That's the best way I can describe it. The pain just kept getting worse. Finally I put a movie on for Lucas so I could lie down. I was just waiting for Lucas' nap time so I could go to bed, finally I put him to bed 30 minutes early because I couldn't take it any longer. By this time it was 1:30 and I was in such horrible pain I was trying to do anything to relieve my agony. I called my doctor to see if they could see me today and they said "why don't you wait a couple days to see if the pain goes away" I said "um no, but thanks for your help". I knew Colt still had at least an hour before he would be home from school, which seems like forever when you're writhing in pain. I called my mom to see if she would stay with Lucas while we go to the insta-care. At 3 o' clock when Colt got home from school and my mom made it to our place was when we finally started to head to the insta-care. By then the pain had started going down my right side and still was horrible. Anyways they decided that it could either be a kidney stone or appendicitis, but to make sure I had to get a CT scan. So we headed to the hospital to get the CT scan and about 2 hours later they confirmed it was appendicitis which meant emergency surgery. From there they sent us across the hospital to the ER to get everything set up and ready for surgery (not to mention we get to pay another ER fee). They gave me some good pain killers and the next thing I knew I was off to surgery in less than an hour from when we arrived in the emergency department. Surgery went fine other than they had a hard time getting me to stop bleeding. They tell me to make sure if I ever have more surgeries to make sure I tell the doctors that I'm a "bleeder" and that I may have a mild bleeding disorder. I stayed over night at the hospital so I could be monitored and by 3 I was on my way home. The recovery is going fine. I feel pretty much back to normal except I have 2 more weeks until I can pick Lucas up again. I don't think that will be possible but I am trying to be careful.

Hopefully no more trips to the ER for a long time!

Cruise 2010

In January we went on a cruise to the Mexican Riviera with Colt's family. It was a lot of fun. I was definitely a little scared taking Lucas on a big boat with how wild and crazy he is. I was thinking he could fall over board, but of course everything was fine, and once I got on the boat I wasn't worried so much. Lucas did really good surprisingly, except at meal times. We had lots of fun walking around seeing new things, playing on the beach, shopping, going to shows, chasing Lucas up and down the halls, and playing at the pools.

At first Lucas wanted nothing to do with the sand. Lucas wanted to cuddle with Grandpa where is was safe away from sand.

Lucas warmed up to the sand really quick, even tried eating it. The beach was really nice there and it was nice and hot. Perfect weather!

Christmas 2009

We had a great Christmas this year. When I was little I never could sleep on Christmas eve or at least I could never sleep in. I was always to excited. After having a child it still hasn't changed, but not for me this time. I was too excited to see Lucas' reaction and hear his "ewww" and "wow". And that is just what I got to hear. I loved every minute of it. So I woke up at 7 am and got up to make my family a good Christmas breakfast, and the boys slept in until 8. Lucas opened his first present then he just wanted to play with that toy. It took 2 and a half hours to get done opening presents. That night we went up to my moms for Christmas dinner and Lucas went sledding for the first time. The hill was way to big for him and he cried. Poor guy. Maybe next year. We had a really good Christmas and I had so much fun just watching Lucas and now I can't wait for next year when he will understand a little better.

13 months

It's been a while since my last post and it's been almost 2 weeks since Lucas turned 13 months, but here are a few new things about Lucas.
* He is running all over the place
* He prefers feeding himself....(I don't, it take me forever to clean up the mess)
* He can say nana that's for banana, he says it all the time, he loves bananas. He can also say wow, and yeah.

* He dances when ever music is playing, I think it's so cute because he squats or turns in circles.
* He gives the best hugs and all the time
* He LOVES babies

I can't believe our little guy is growing up so fast. We just think he is so adorable and he lights up our life and makes us so happy. I feel so lucky to have such a good and happy little boy.

Thanksgiving weekend

This year for Thanksgiving went went up to my Mom house and decided to not go to both sides of the family. I must say I liked it very much that way and it was better for Lucas so he could get his naps. My brother Eric and his wife Brittany and Jeff and Karletta and Kael all came out and it was nice to see them and spend the weekend with them. We had a good Thanksgiving and just hung out.

On black Friday I got up early with my Mom to wait in the line at Target. I did get the main idem I was waiting for which was a portable DVD player and I got a few other things that I wanted. This was my first year ever shopping on Black Friday and I have to say I loved it. It was fun and I don't mind waiting in a few long lines to save me some money. I will definitely be doing it again next year. Later that afternoon we all went to see Blind Side. I was such a good movie. That is only the second movie Colt and I have seen in theaters since Lucas was born. Sad huh.

On Saturday my little sister Carley got baptized and Colt was able to baptize her and my brother Jeff confirmed her. It was a neat experience for Carley. She was so scared at first that she was crying, but when it was all done she was all giggly and she told my Mom "that felt so good".

I did not get any pictures of everyone else this weekend except to 2 cute little boys.

This is Lucas and my nephew Kael last Thanksgiving (Lucas was 4 days old and Kael 3 months older) and then this year on Thanksgiving.

Fun things about Lucas
*He is a very good boy, pretty easy for the most part just very busy.
*He is walking!
*He can say Mama, Dada, baba, du (for duck), da (for dog), ba (for balloon), and bye
*He has to have a spoon in his hand when we are feeding him or he won't eat.
*He is learning to feed himself.
*He LOVES toy ducks! I got a bath picture frame with a duck on it from Colt's grandma when I was still pregnant and now it has Lucas' picture in it. Every morning when Lucas wakes up the first thing he does is points to the duck and starts saying "da da" and then of course he has to hold the picture frame while I change his diaper. Without fail, that happens EVERY morning.

LUCAS IS ONE!!!
We had a nice birthday party for Lucas. It was a good day with lots of craziness and a tiny house filled with lots of family.

Lucas needed lots of help opening his gifts and then he wanted to play with each one. We actually saved a few gifts until the next day because it got to be just to much, he just wanted to play.

Colt decorated this giant cupcake for Lucas and did a great job. I ran out of time to do it so Colt did a great job helping me.

This is what Lucas does when a house full of people are singing Happy Birthday to him. He buried his head in his high chair and was just sobbing. I just had to laugh, it was so cute. So of course after that he did not dig into his cake. (I have a video of this on our video camera, I'll post it when I know how)

After everyone left we decided to try the cake thing again, and he liked it for a little while but then he had had enough. It was definetly bed time!

I made him this Baby Einstein cake. It did not goes as I planned but in the end thanks again to a lot of Colt's help it turned out ok. It even had a surprise inside...BLUE!

I volunteered to make a wedding cake for my boss's daughter. Note that I have only helped make one other cake like this and that was my wedding cake. The bottom 2 layers are styrofoam and the top was red velvet cake. All I had to do was just cover it with fondant and pipe in between the layers and then they were going to decorate it with flowers so actually it was pretty easy to do. I had a lot of fun doing it.

Almost Lucas' birthday

This was my way of making a easy, fast, and cheap birthday invitation. I tacked one of Lucas quilts to the wall. He is sitting on his little chair that Colt is still working on refinishing. I made the foam number 1 with the leftover foam that I am using to make the pad for this chair. I painted it from the leftover paint we used for our bathroom. After taking many not so good pictures and getting frustrated because Lucas was not cooperating because all he wanted to do was eat his number1, I started making really loud annoying noises and that got him to make this cute smile. I then used Photoshop for the lettering which I have only experimented a few times with. I was very happy that I was able to do this all by myself because this is definitely Colt's things. So I must say that I am proud.

Lucas' first Halloween

Colt's parents put on a Halloween party every year for the grand kids.

Colt wanted to try and be a monkey to....but it didn't quite fit.

Lucas was sick this Halloween so we dressed him up in his costume for a few hours that day and went to Home Depot and looked around. That's the extent of his first Halloween experience besides the Halloween party he had the week before. No trick-or-treating this year, which was ok because I wasn't going to give him any candy anyways, but I sure could have used some candy for myself :) Overall it was a pretty good Halloween considering Lucas went to the night clinic at ours doctors a couple nights before because his temperature got really high but he got better fast and is pretty much all better now.

1 more months and I will have a 1 year old!
Lucas is learning so much. Here's some new things about Lucas.

*He now can say Mama.
*He has been able to say Dada for a few months now.
*He can stand all by himself for a short time.
* He is VERY VERY busy.
* He pretty much hates baby food now.
* He thinks he is such a big boy and wants to do everything by himself.
* He does not like his oatmeal. I get him to still eat it by alternating every bite between apple sauce, cottage cheese, or yogurt.
* Foods he loves: apple sauce, cottage cheese, yogurt, cheese, bagels and cream cheese, mac n cheese, grilled cheese sandwiches, apples, bananas, peaches, pears, green beans, and anything he can pick up and eat by himself.
* Lucas has finally gone to 2 naps a day, which has worked out very well. He goes to bed and hour earlier and sleeps in a hour later and has 1, 2 and a half hour nap and 1 hour and a half nap. Can't get much better then that.
* Lucas waves bye-bye to us when we put him to bed. He loves going to bed.
*He can slide down the slide at the playground.
*He loves playing with boxes and crawling through them.

I can't believe Lucas will have his first birthday in less then 2 months! Crazy how fast time goes by. Lucas is so very WILD! Lucas is getting into EVERYTHING and walking all along the furniture and climbing in and on EVERYTHING. He can climb onto the couch by himself and get off the bed or couch by himself. He can point his finger at things and wave bye-bye. Lucas LOVES books! He likes to sit and look at books and ew and ah over each page. Lucas is still taking 3 naps a day but I can tell the time to go to 2 is coming soon. Lucas is getting his top 2 teeth. Lucas is a curious little boy. We just love our little man.

He has started liking to watch his movies in his stroller. Silly kid.

We went to Colorado a couple weeks ago for my twin brother's wedding. It was a very short trip but it was fun to get away for a while and see some family that we have not seen for a few years.

MORE ABOUT LUCAS

Lucas has become a very busy little boy. We are having so much fun with him and he makes us smile and laugh everyday. He is learning so much. He is learning how to wave bye-bye but doesn't quite have it yet. He can say dada. He doesn't necessarily associate it with Colt yet. He can walk behind his stroller. He is a speedy little crawler and walks all around the furniture. He can answer yes or no questions by shaking his head but doesn't really answer them right I think he is just learning the concept of answering questions.

Things Lucas likes: He loves getting his teeth brushed, he giggles the whole time, it is so cute. He likes being chased. He loves to sleep on his belly. He likes looking at books and likes us to read to him. He loves when I sing to him, sometimes it is the only way to calm him down. His favorite foods are cheese, yogurt, and apple juice, but he will eat anything. He is such a good eater. He loves to sleep. He sleeps 12 hours at night and is STILL taking 3 naps a day. I want him to go to 2 naps so I can leave the house for longer periods of time and so that his 2 naps will hopefully be longer then an hour and a half each. I am just very glad he is a good sleeper and easy to put to bed. He loves watching cars and especially motorcycles and the louder the better. Sometimes we will just sit on the grass and watch the cars go by. It is some good entertainment for a while. He is very interested in tools and loves watching Colt and what he is doing with his tools.

Things Lucas dislikes: He HATES getting dressed or his diaper changed. It seriously is a battle every time. He hates wearing shoes but likes to chew on them. He hates church. Well I don't think he hates it he is just not good at church because he just wants to be down crawling around, or standing on the bench and jumping up and down looking at the people behind us. But obviously I don't let him do that. I don't want to be those people with the rowdy kids during sacrament meeting. I'm afraid I am "those" people. Every other Sunday I have to go to church by myself because Colt is working. It is so hard with Lucas be myself because he is very busy and loud. Every time I end up leaving early and sometimes I just come home and cry and wonder why I even try to go by myself. It's not like I even heard a word that was said, I spend the whole time trying to make Lucas happy. So I guess this is my dislike more then Lucas'. Lucas is getting quite the little temper. If he doesn't want something he will throw it or if he gets mad he will arch his back and throw himself backwards. I hope this doesn't last long.

Lucas had another doctors appointment and did so good with the shots. He didn't he cry on one of them and just look at it like what are you doing. The worst part was the doctor had to pull back his extra foreskin on his peepee because it was growing to far down and Lucas scream with that. It hurt Lucas so bad and his little peepee was swollen and bright red for the next 2 days. Apparently I was suppose to pull it back with every bath but I didn't know that. Here is how much Lucas has grown. 21lbs. 1 oz. 50%, 28 3/4 inches 50%, head 47.6cm above 95%.

We went swimming at the Lindon pool and we loved it. Lucas made a friend while we were there. He loved crawling all around that pool and playing in the fountains. I love how the pool is so soft we we don't scrap our knees.

8 Months
Sorry long post and lots of pictures and videos.
I know I say this every month but I really can't believe Lucas is 8 months old already. This month has been crazy because he has learned so much and it has kept me very busy. He has learned to sit up all on his own which has made sleeping not so easy anymore. Before I would just be able to put him down and he would fall right to sleep. Now if we put him in the crib he will play stand up sit down. So now we get to rock him, which I love because he has never let us rock him before. He used to just like going straight to bed with none of the wind down stuff before. He loves when we read to him and he loves being sang to. Colt will even sing to him. Lucas still loves to sleep. He is still taking 3 naps a day. I tried going down to 2 naps because that's what I thought he wanted but 2 naps just wasn't enough. He just got way off schedule from going to St. George. That is why I really like staying to his schedule because it make my life and his so much easier to handle. Lucas is very busy and crawling all over the place now and getting into EVERYTHING. Lucas loves everything he can't have like cell phone, power cords, and remotes. Lucas loves to eat, he is such a good little eater and will eat anything. He loves playing outside and going on walks. He loves his baths and going swimming. He is starting to snuggle a little more with us which I love when it happens.

As for Colt and I, we both are keeping very busy with work. Colt is working full time at the hospital and part time for home care and going to school full time. I am working part time for home care. I have starting scrapbooking a lot. I love it, it now takes up all my free time. It is the biggest stress reliever for me. Colt is almost done with his first semester of the RN program. He will be done in May! Yeah! There is finally light at the end of the tunnel. We can see it.

Lucas always makes this scrunchy face. He will sit and do that at random people. I think its pretty funny.

Lucas is all over his crib now when he sleeps. Ever since he learned to sit up all by himself, putting him to sleep has not been so easy for us anymore. Now he just wants to play the stand up sit down game in his crib.

We got him a little swimming pool so we can go swimming out on our deck. It's is nice to have. It's gives us something to do in this hot weather and it wears him out enough that he will take a good nap.

St. George

This is us at St. George. Colt finally got to go with us this time. We had fun swimming in the pool. Lucas loved to play in the fountain they had there. While on this trip Lucas learned to sit himself up. He even sat himself up and feel asleep that way. It was pretty funny. I wish I had a picture of it.

We went to the Oquirrh Mountain temple open house with my mom, Tony, little sis Carley and my niece Madison.

Steel Days

We went to Steel Days. Lucas got to ride the train. Colt won a few prizes for him. Then all he wanted to do was walk around holding his slinky.

Lucas is crawling. He does this weird thing with his leg and kinda always keeps it under him. I think so it's easier for him to sit back down.

We finally got Lucas a jumper. I have wanted to get him one for a long time now. I did a lot a research and found that this one was the best for us and got the best reviews even over the Baby Einstein one. He loves it.

4th of July/ My birthday

We had such a fun 4th of July. I had such a good birthday to. I get asked all the time if I like having my birthday on the 4th, and I love it. There is always something to do and always friends and family to celebrate it with me. Last year I did not have a good birthday, I won't go into detail. So this year was really good and fun. We did a lot of the same stuff I use to do when I was a kid. We woke up early to see the hot air balloons, then we went to the parade and watched the runners before the parade started. My mom use to run in the race every year when I was little. Then we went to breakfast. After all that then it was time to come home a let Lucas take a good nap. He slept 3 hours! Lucas did really good the whole day with his schedule being all messed up. We had such a good day doing all the same traditions I did as a kid.Watching the parade. It rained a little and Lucas thought it was so fun to have that blanket on his head.

7 Months

Lucas just turned 7 months. That 6th month went by so fast. Lucas has really been getting more and more fun everyday. This last month he sure has changed and learned a lot. Lucas loves to be outside. We like to go outside and hangout on a blanket. He likes to look at everything around him, and he likes watching all the little kids playing. Lucas can finally walk now, with me holding his hands of course, that's all he ever wants to do. He can pull himself up by holding on to something and he is so proud of himself when he does it. He will pull up then sit down and keep doing that over and over, and he just laughs at himself. He loves it so much. It is so cute. Lucas hates to be on his tummy, so I am beginning to think he will never learn how to crawl. We will put him on his tummy and he will just roll over. Lucas is starting to get stranger anxiety. Sometimes he will fuss if I leave the room. He is starting to get a preference of who is holding him. I love our little guy so much! I can't wait to see the changes in him this month.

Swimming Lessons

Lucas took swimming lessons for 2 weeks at the Scera Pool. He loved every minute of it. I loved it to because it gave us something different to do. He loved getting in the water and just splashing and kicking around. He learned some new songs with some actions in the water, and he learned how to swim after a toy (with me holding him of course). All in all it was really fun, I am very glad I started him at this age, it's to bad the weather couldn't have been better so we could have gone a few more days but oh well. I can't wait for good weather again so we can do some more swimming.

Lucas is at a really fun stage right now. He is so fun and I just can't get enough of him. Being a mom seriously is the best job in the world. I love it.

Here's some things about Lucas

Lucas sits up all by himself now and for a really long time.
Lucas loves to sleep with his little stuffed giraffe.
Lucas LOVES food, he has tried all the vegetables and now is starting the fruits. He likes everything that goes in his mouth except he doesn't like the fluoride drops we give him.
Lucas loves playing with his toys in the bath tub.
Lucas loves swimming.
Lucas likes going to bed at night and likes his naps...all 3 of them, about 2 hours each.
Lucas like to keep to his schedule, he gets fussy if it is messed up in anyway. He does not do very good at all at church for this reason.
Lucas has his bottom 2 teeth coming in.
Lucas LOVES watching his Baby Einstein movies.
Lucas loves going outside and taking walks.
Lucas loves playing with toy cars. They are his new favorite toys. He can be so focused on cars that I can't even get his attention.

Lucas loves playing peek a boo with a blanket. He will cover his own face and we say "Lucas where are you?" then he pulls it down and we say "there he is". He loves this, he thinks it is so fun.

Our cruise didn't turn out the way we planned. We were suppose to go to ports Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, and Pureto Vallarta. We went to Cabo but then all the news and everyone else started freaking out about swine flu so they canceled the other 2 ports. It makes me really mad because swine flu wasn't even in Cabo and the regular seasonal flu has killed way more people then this flu has this year. I know they were just trying to protect us passengers but I think they have overreacted a bit much about this. Anyways so instead of going to those other 2 ports they thought they would take us clear up north where it is cold to San Francisco. We had 4 days of cruising at sea and all those days were freezing cold so we hardly got to go outside. We also had 60-70mph winds for 2 of those days cruising. It felt like we were really going to fly off the boat if we stepped outside. We only had 1 nice day at Cabo. They have some good shows and activities on the boat but after about 4 days they got old. When we got to San Francisco it was overcast and raining the entire day. We got to walk around in the rain all day. Not my idea of fun. They did give us a 150 dollar credit that we had to spend on the boat of course and also free cocktails for one and a half hours. That didn't help us any since we don't drink. One of the workers laughed in my face when I asked if we who don't drink can get a non-alcoholic drink. Anyways enough about all that. It just makes me really mad because we saved up for 9 months for this cruise and it would be the last real vacation for a long time. It was not worth it to me to leave Lucas that long and for the money to get that cruise to turn into a disaster. It's nothing against Royal Caribbean. We just didn't like the way they handled it. We loved our cruise for our honeymoon and wanted to repeat another enjoyable experience. Here's some pictures. Sorry their is a lot of them.

We sailed under the Golden Gate Bridge which was pretty fun to watch. We only cleared it by 12 feet but it looked a lot closer then that.

Most of you already know that Colt got his LPN back in December. Today we just found out that he got accepted to the LPN to RN program at SLCC. He will start May 18th. This program is at SLCC but also through IHC so everything is paid for including tuition, books, and uniform!!! The catch is he will have to work at a IHC hospital up in Salt Lake for one year if he works full time. I am so excited for Colt. He worked so hard for this and it has been a long road. Lucas is now 4 months old. We went to the doctor and here are his new measurements: 15lbs 10oz 75%, 25 inches 50%, 44.2cm head 95%. He is growing and learning so much, here are some of his new tricks.

We started him on rice cereal. He struggled at first but now he loves it.

He loves to play with his toes.

He can hold his own bottle.

He is learning how to sit up. He can sit with his arms like this with out falling over for a while but he can't sit without his arms help yet.

Lucas went on his first plane ride to Colorado but I didn't take any pictures. He did really good on the plane. We finally got out there after the first flight was canceled due to snow in Colorado so we went the next morning bright and early. Lucas had to wake up at 3:30 am. It was just a fun little trip. We went out there so I could go shopping with my sister for the cruise.

"He could be a girl".......WHAT?

Ok so most of you know that I bring Lucas to work with me. Well today one of the aides came in and was talking to Lucas, then she said "he could be a girl." So what the heck does that suppose to mean. He clearly did not look like a girl. He was wearing his light and dark blue striped outfit. (It's in a couple posts down.) So really what the heck am I suppose to think about that comment? It doesn't really bother me because I think my baby is pretty dang cute but i'm his mom and really I don't care what other people think. That comment just caught me off guard. I guess we will always have those weird comments from people. I had my fair share when I was pregnant. I can now finally laugh about all them. I just find it very funny what people come up with and really wonder if they think before they speak.

Lucas talking/ St. George

Lucas has just starting talking. He started this a couple weeks ago and he does it all the time. It's so cute. We love to hear him talk.

Lucas and I went to St. George last weekend with my Mom and step dad Tony and little sis Carley. Colt had to stay home and work :( It was so nice to get away for a while and not have to worry about cleaning the house or going to work. Here are just a few pictures.

Lucas is 3 months old today!

Holy cow I can't believe how fast the time has gone by. He has learned so much in just the 3 months. I think he might be teething because he is drooling like crazy and has little fevers almost every night for a week now. It seems pretty early to be teething but whatever it is it doesn't seem to bother him at all. He has started rolling over but it's only once in a while so he doesn't quite have it down yet. He loves to stand even when I go to burp him, he won't sit, he will have to stand up. Colt even had a dream that he could stand by himself by the time he was 4 months old. I just loves this little guy, he is so fun and just so dang cute!

Lucas loves the bath. He always kicks his legs so hard and laughs. He was laughing right before I pulled out the camera. He tends to get shy when the camera gets in his face.

Lucas loves watching the tv just like his dad. (oh great!)

These things work great. No more messing with pads that won't stay put, or the pads showing through your clothes. They are reusable and they just stick to you. You just have to wash them once a day. They last for 2 months and you can get them from Motherhood Maternity.

Colt sent me these pretty flowers to my office. It was a great surprise. The funny thing is my mom got some to and was delivered at the same time by the same place. So we totally thought that Colt and Tony had planned this but come to find out, they didn't plan it. I thought it was funny that both our husbands did the exact same thing.
Our Valentine's was good. Colt made me dinner and I made chocolate fondue with strawberries, bananas, and angel food cake to dip. It was both very good.

"Swaddle Me"

This has been the greatest thing ever. I can't say enough good stuff about this. After finding Lucas all naked one morning we went on got this. He had wiggled out of his pajamas and his receiving blankets leaving him in nothing but his diaper. Lucas has been using this since he was 6 weeks old and has been sleeping 10-12 hours a night since then. All mom's out there go get one. I have only seen them at Babies R Us and they only cost $9.99.

2 Months

Well I am a little late on this post but oh well. Lucas is already 2 months old. It's crazy how fast the time has gone by. He had his Dr. appt. and did very well at it. He got 5 shots in his legs and only cried for like 30 seconds. What a trooper he was. Lucas has had some congestion for over a week now and the doctor said he now has an ear infection from that. Poor little guy, but it doesn't seem to bother him one bit. He now weighs 12lbs 14oz, length is 23 3/4 inches, and head is 41.6 cm. Everything is in the 75 percentile. Very porportional huh. Lucas is always so calm and easy going. He is always so happy and never cries. He has been sleeping 10 hours every night now since Christmas. He is really starting to smile a lot and laugh with us. He is so fun!

I remember seeing this tag on Marianne's blog and wanted to do it so I can remember all these details that changed my life.

1- Where were you when you first found out you were pregnant?
I was at home on 3/5/08
2- Who was with you?
I was by myself.
3- How did you find out that you were pregnant?
Home prego test and Colt also took my blood and tested me at the lab.
4- What was your first reaction to finding out you were pregnant?
I was shocked it happened so soon because I miscarried the month before.

5-Did you get morning sickness? Yes, it started around 6 weeks and went away after 16 weeks. I got lucky not to have it too bad. I just felt yucky and I had to make sure I always had some crackers or something with me. I only threw up maybe 10 times and 1 time I actually missed the toilet, I was running to the bathroom and got the wall. I laugh right after I thought it was pretty funny.

6- Who was the first person you told?
I went and saw Colt for lunch that day but I didn't want to tell him until after school because he had a test right after lunch and I didn't want to distract him. I remember we ate at Hogi Yogi and we were just talking like normal and out of the blue he says "your pregnant huh" So then he knew. Then after lunch I went to the office to talk to my Mom but someone was in her office so I was patiently waiting, then she shouted out of her office with the person still in there "are you pregnant?" Then my mom knew and everyone around my moms office knew. I guess you could just see it on my face. What can I say I was pretty happy.
7-Did you plan to get pregnant?
We got pregnant in August 2007 by accident and after I miscarried that one we started trying since. We got pregnant again in January and miscarried right after and then again in March.
8-Was everybody happy for you?
Yes I hope so.
9- Did you go out and celebrate?
I sure we probably did but I cant remember. I think it was dinner some where.
10- Did you want to find out the sex?
Yes of course! I am a planner and had to have everything ready before he got here. Becides I don't think I could wait that long to find out, 20 weeks is long enough to wait.

11- What was the sex?
A BOY. I knew right away that I was having a boy. I had lots of dreams and feelings that it was a boy
12-Did anyone throw you a baby shower?
Yes I had 3
13- If yes, who?
My sister Jen threw me one in Colorado, My Mom did one and my work did one.
14- Did you get any outfits at the baby shower that you just knew you weren't going to put on your baby?
Yes of course doesn't everyone.
15- How much weight did you gain?
Well my goal was to only gain 25-35. Haha that was funny because I gained 45-50!!!!
16- Did you lose all of the weight that you gained?
No. I lost 30lbs. the first 2 weeks and then it seemed like nothing was happening for a while until I started on the Bodybugg. I have lost 8lbs in the last 2 weeks. Too bad it wasn't another 30 :) So a total of 38, I still have a ways to go.
17- Did you get a lot of stretch marks?
YES! That cocca butter crap does not work at all and I used that stuff everyday from 6 weeks on. So that was a waste of money and I'll thank my wonderful genes to.
18- What did you crave the most?
Cold Stone, pretzel bites from Pretzel Maker, Watermelon and graham crackers in milk, oatmeal, and bagel and cream cheese.
19- Did you crave anything crazy?
No, But I did like some weird smells. I loved the smell of Utah Lake and my make-up. When I smell those it just made me happy. Weird huh?
20- Who or what got on your nerves the most?
A lady at the store asked me "are you having 1 or 2?" everyone at the office saying "you still haven't had your baby" "are you sure your not having twins" "you still here" "wow you still have 2 months left" I wanted to slap everyone that asked my those stupid questions and ask them "are you serious?"
21- Were you married at the time?
Yes
22- Did you have any complications during your pregnancy?
I had horrible cramping and bleeding at 31 weeks I still don't know why but everything was fine. High blood pressure on Halloween probably because I hate the holiday. Other then that everything was fine. I was lucky to have a very good pregnancy other then the fact that I got HUGE.
23- Where were you when you went into labor?
I didn't go into labor until I got to the hospital and they induced me and still after tons of pitocin I didn't really progress hardly at all.
24- Did your water break?
No, the doctor broke it for me.
25- Who drove you to the hospital?
Colt
26- Did you go early or late?
Late, I got induced 1 week after my due date.
27- Who was in the room with you when you gave birth?
Colt was in the room and my Mom was out in the hall. They only allowed 1 person in the operating room.
28- Was it video taped?
Well since it turned into a c-section I thought it would be cool to tape it but no cameras were allowed until after the baby was born.
29- Did you have any drugs for the pain?
Yes, then even more when it was time for the c-section. I was so drugged I could barely keep my eyes open. How sad is that when your giving birth!
30-Did you go Natural or have a c-section? C-section. I went 16 hours and only dialated 1 centimeter. I just was not progressing so doctor said it's time to get the baby out.
31- What was your first reaction after giving birth?
Yea he is finally here! I never knew the baby was out until they brought him over to see me because he never did cry but he was fine. I was so sleepy though just from all the drugs and it was 4:40 in the morning.
32- How big was the baby(s)?
8lbs 4oz 19 inches
33- Did your Husband cry?
No, but he was choked up.
34- What did you name the baby(s)?

35- Who came to see you at the hospital? My parents and my little sister Carley, Colt's parents, Colt's grandparents, My grandparents White, my sister Angela, Jeremy and Emily and there kids, Tareh and her kids, my step sister Tera and sister in-law Heidi, our friends Yersa, Scottie and Tashina, and Dan and Libby. That might be all I hope I didnt forget anyone.
36- Did the baby(s) have any complications?
No, he just wanted to be stubburn and not come out.
37- How old is your baby today?
He will be 2 months exactly tomorrow
38- When is the next one(s) coming?
Anywhere from 1 year to when Colt is done with school. We are not to sure yet. We will keep the rest a surprise.
39-If you could, would you do it all over again?
Yes of course. This time I want to wait longer before I get my epidural to see if I will dilate and try for a VBAC.

We blessed Lucas on Sunday and it went very well. Lucas did good through the blessing, I was so nervous that he would cry through it but he didn't. I want to thank all our family and friends who helped make this day so special.

The Bodybugg

Some of you ask me what a Bodybugg is. Well here it is. It is this armband that manages the calories you consume and burn. It also monitors how much you exercise, it manages how many calories you eat, then track if you are burning more calories that you are consuming. I have to log everything I eat on this program on the computer and it automatically calculates how many calories I eat. I had to answer a lot of questions and it set up a program based on my age, weight, height and personal goals. It is so awesome, I love it! It gives me exercise plans and meal plans if I want to use them. It is very helpful for losing weight. My mom has been using it now for a few months and she has already easily met her goal weight. All the girls in my family have one and we love them. I love mine so much I am seriously thinking about becoming a coach, it's a job I can do from home over the phone with clients. Everyone that buys a Bodybugg gets 1 free coaching session over the phone and it's about 45 minutes long and then tell you how to do everything and make sure your calories consumed is where it should be. I love it so much I highly recommend this to everyone! They have a new one now that is little and black but this is a picture of the one I have. And everyone on the Biggest Loser use them to.

Christmas 2008

We had a good Christmas this year. We got lots of good stuff. Colt got some pants and gift cards and some money, I got gift cards and money and my favorite a bodybugg, now I can get losing all that baby weight. Lucas got lots of clothes and toys. I got the best present from Lucas...7 1/2 hours of straight sleep and he has been sleeping like that ever since Christmas to.

Where's Lucas?
Lucas got so spoiled. I think he has now double the amount of clothes he has. We surrounded him with all his gifts and he was smiling and laughing the whole time. It was so cute.

Lucas is 1 month old! Wow that has gone by fast. We are having so much fun with him. He is a really good baby. I just love being a mom, there really isn't anything better then that. It is so fun getting to know Lucas. We know that he loves his swing, he doesn't like to be in his car seat unless it is moving, he loves to stare at the fan and all our pictures on the wall, he is starting to really like his binky...uh oh, he likes to make lots of noise like grunting or loud humming, he likes his hands by his face when he sleeps, and he likes to sleep by me in bed after Colt has gone to work.
