Trying to smileLucas is 2 weeks already. It's been a busy 2 weeks with not much sleep. Lucas is a really good baby. He is happy most of the time and just gets a little fussy when he wants to eat. So it's been pretty easy so far, I'm just tired. We decided to create a little photo shoot at our house. Here are just a few of the pictures Colt took.
Lucas had his 2 week check up on Monday and he is definitely growing. So I have been so worried that Lucas isn't getting enough to eat because he only nurses for 5 minutes total so I thought for sure that couldn't be enough. Well his weight now is 9lbs 3oz. The doctor said I don't need to worry anymore. He sounded pretty shocked about his weight gain. Just a reminder his birth weight was 8lbs 4oz and we left the hospital with him at 7lbs 14oz. He was 19 inches at birth and is 21 1/4 inches now. So I guess 5 minutes is long enough for him. He definitely is growing.

I love the picture of him hanging on! So it how is it being a new mom? The thing I am scared most abour is the sleep. I think sleep is my biggest weakness, and I hope I dont ignore my child because I cant get out of bed. Just kidding. I will learn.

He is adorable. I was so stressed about breastfeeding with my first and spent every second feeding her because I was worried she wasn't getting enough--BAD IDEA. Both my girls only nurse for 5 minutes, and they are both alive and healthy. Just be happy that you don't have to sit there for 20+ mins. but can be done faster. It really is a blessing. Babies will not go hungry. Enjoy this stage, it's the best :) CONGRATS
